Daron attended Medical School at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa and graduated in 2001. After working in Cape Town for a few years Daron migrated to Australia and started general surgical training in Sydney before completing his Ear, Nose and Throat, Head and Neck Surgical training in New South Wales.
After becoming a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), Daron completed formal post specialty fellowship training at Guys and St Thomas Hospital in London and visiting fellowships at the University of Toronto, Canada and Hospital European Georges Pompidou in Paris. This resulted in a high level of expertise and experience in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, salivary gland pathology, and head and neck cancer management. Daron has a broad interest in adult and paediatric ENT, nose and sinus disease, and ear disease.
Daron started providing ENT services to Hunter ENT in 2016. With an interest in regional and under-serviced communities Daron has participated in the Pacific Islands Project to provide ENT care to residents of Kiribati.
Daron has published widely and continues to be involved in clinical research as well as reviewing articles for publication. He is actively involved in teaching and lecturing to medical students, surgical trainees and allied medical staff.
