I grew up on the South Coast of NSW and went to high school in the Southern Highlands. I was and remain interested in the ocean and other activities including running. I attended Sydney University studying science and marine science in particular. I then attended The University of Queensland studying medicine.

As a doctor I worked in Queensland, NSW and the NT while completing a fellowship in general paediatrics. 

As a consultant Paediatrician I worked in the Kimberley region of WA and then Darwin and the top end in the NT.

I had interests in Indigenous health including community outreach, neonatology and paediatric diabetes. I upskilled at Queensland Children’s Hospital with the respiratory team learning bronchoscopy and I carried out this service in Darwin. 

More recently I worked for 2 years as the Medical Director of Laos Friends Hospital for Children in Luang Prabang which is the only free hospital for children in Laos. I have moved to Newcastle for a seachange and to reconnect with family and friends.
