Dr Phylannie Cheung
Dr Phylannie Cheung is an Australian-trained adult and paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and a member of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (ASOHNS).
Phyl worked as a small animal veterinarian before returning to medical school to pursue a career in human medicine. She graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with First Class Honours in 2015. She then worked at major hospitals in metropolitan Sydney and regional New South Wales while completing her Master of Surgery at the University of Sydney.
She subsequently underwent five years of specialist training in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (ENT), working at major tertiary hospitals across Victoria, the ACT and NSW including: The Alfred (Melbourne), The Canberra Hospital, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, John Hunter Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney.
Phyl enjoys all aspects of ENT and has a strong interest in medical education and training. She provides surgical care at Hunter Valley Private Hospital and Lingard Private Hospital. She will also be joining the John Hunter Hospital ENT Department, where she will provide public and emergency ENT services.
