Dr Tyron Clayworth
Ty is a Biripi man from Wauchope working across a few different areas including clinical practice and medical education. He works at a small family clinic in Newcastle three days a week and has done so since his registrar days. He also works with Dr Kelvin Kong to assist in the Konara Kids Quick Access Clinic. As a GP first and foremost, Ty is involved in clinic appointments at Konara working with kids and families. Having had his own two kids go through multiple ENT surgeries including tonsils, adenoids and grommets he feels a sense of experience in what it is like to navigate this as a parent as well.
Within RACGP (Royal Australian College of General Practitioners), Ty works 2 days a week as a medical educator. He is responsible for helping to train future GPs in NSW & ACT.
Ty is the former chair and has continued on as a fellow of IGPTN (Indigenous General Practice Trainee Network). He is passionate about supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander doctors in training. If he’s not working, you’ll find him chasing after his daughter Rory and his son Ted hopefully at the beach.
